LaShelia is a servant, who served as the Associate Director and Director of Financial Aid at Erskine College and Theological Seminary for nine years, a servant of many ministries, and professional organizations. She is a lifelong member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
The love of LaShelia’s life is the Lord. While God had been working preveniently in her life, even before she was aware of His divine grace and presence, she received her first inheritance of His Holy Spirit as an infant, when she was baptized in the United Methodist Church and vows were made on her behalf. As she matured, it was at the age of fourteen she had a powerful experience to accept His invitation into a relationship with Him. Even though she did not understand or could not formulate what God desired of her, she knew He existed because His prevenient grace resonated so strongly within her heart. Yet, she went out into the world and made a mess of her life. After marrying her covenant partner, she grew older and closer in her relationship to Jesus Christ. At the age of twenty-nine, LaShelia had another powerful moment of assurance in her pantry at 205 Burning Bush Road. While at home caring for her sick child since birth, she felt the presence of God’s love strangely warm her heart. It was at that moment on January 2, 1989 she received the awareness and assurance of God’s acceptance of her repentance. Biblically, theologically and historically she has learned that it is only through God’s grace that one can accept His invitation into a personal relationship with Him. After doing so, she never looked back! Seven years later, she received the empowerment of the Holy Ghost on June 27, 1996.
LaShelia writes: I love the Lord! All that I am, and all that I ever will be is because of Jesus Christ. God is my soul-mate! My desire is to please God, snatch the souls of sinners from the enemy, and prepare the Universe for the return of His Son. For He is Coming Back!
